A homemade plane crashed in a wooded area near Skylark Field in Killeen on Saturday.

Pilot Brian Douglas was not injured and nobody else was on the plane.

Police received a call around 9:30 Saturday morning from a passerby who reported that a small plane looked like it might crash. Douglas called a short time later and reported the crash.

Responders were unable to see the plane, and had to call out to Douglas in order to locate the site, which was roughly six feet above the ground.

Douglas has ten years of experience as a pilot, and was in the process of returning to the airport after noticing that his experimental plane was losing power.
