Over 200 roosters have been removed from the site of an illegal cockfight in Lampasas, Texas. A warrant was served by the Lampasas Sheriff's Office, Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers, Highway Patrol CID, and Texas Parks and Wildlife wardens at around 1 pm Saturday at 3010 Lampasas County Road.

Local law enforcement moved some 220 roosters from the property owned by a Hector Hernandez, who was then arrested for cockfighting. The cops also found two fighting rings, and fight paraphernalia.

Encyclopedia Britannica credits cockfighting as having been around since 500 B.C. In America, it is illegal in all 50 states.
