KWTX reported that a bus crash occurred just south of Hillsboro on Interstate 35, and was causing a major backup in the northbound direction on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident was reported to authorities around 3:20 p.m., and happened just south of FM 310. Around the time 4:30 p.m hit, traffic was backed up around four miles.

Authorities believe the wet highway may have been a cause of the accident, because of the heavy downpour that occurred around that time.

Texas Department of Transportation said, "The bus was blocking the northbound lanes and that passengers were being transferred to a second bus."

Authorities were detouring northbound traffic to the access road, and southbound traffic was slowed down due to motorists viewing the accident.
