K-101.7 Announces Temple High Football Coverage Returning for 2017 Season
After what started as a rebuilding year turned into a season with a finale in the State Championship game, it seemed like a no-brainer. Now, we’re happy to make it official.
Temple Wildcat Football will return to KLTD-FM, K-101.7 with complete coverage of all games home and away. Let’s cheer on the Cats as they do it again!
The first-year team of play-by-play announcer Joe Palmer, color commentator Art Coley, and media analyst Allen Roark will return for their sophomore season in the broadcast booth. Additionally, longtime announcer Gene Pemberton will continue to connect today’s team with Temple’s storied past via interviews and remembrances.
Also, the weekly Inside Wildcat Football coach show with Allen Roark hosting will also return in the fall Monday nights at 7:00 PM on our sister station, Newsradio 1400 KTEM-AM. We’ll have more details on that show soon.
Behind the scenes, Big Q will provide the sound design for the game coverage, producing the distinct audio pieces used during the broadcast. And yes, the games will be produced yet again by Darren Gauthier (yours truly). I actually live for that. I love doing the games and making it sound like you are there.
There are some other elements we’re looking to add to the broadcast to make the coverage as fun for those listening at home as those listening to the game.
“Temple Wildcat Football was big for us online,” said K1017fm.com Digital Managing Editor Aaron Savage, whom you may have heard on air. “We are positive this year’s performance digitally will be even bigger.”
