The City of Killeen confirmed Wednesday that a city employee of 17 years was killed Tuesday afternoon following an accident at a solid waste facility.

In a press release, city officials said Frank Wilson was struck by a piece of motorized equipment at the Killeen Transfer Station on State Highway 95. He was pronounced dead at a 4:09 p.m.

Mayor Scott Cosper has ordered that Killeen city flags be flown at half-staff until after Wilson's funeral. The accident that claimed Wilson's life remained under investigation Wednesday afternoon.
