A Central Texas doctor was in the Bell County Jail Thursday morning after police reportedly found cocaine in his home during the course of a sexual assault investigation.

Our news partner, KWTX, reports that police searched the Westlake Hills home of 47-year-old David Anthony Miranda after a woman reported that he and a second man may have taken photos of her during an alleged sexual assault on March 25. A search warrant for Miranda’s home was obtained on June 5 and executed two days later. Bags of cocaine were found in the home, along with a clear vial labeled “morphine” and photos of nude women.

According to KWTX, U.S. Marshals arrested Miranda on Wednesday, August 2 in connection with their investigation of the alleged assault. Miranda reportedly told investigators he did not photograph the victim, but received photos of her from the other male accused in the case.

Online jail records indicated that Miranda was booked into the Bell County Jail at 4:22 PM Wednesday on a state jail felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. His bond was listed as $25,000.

Miranda worked as a contractor at the emergency room of Killeen’s Metroplex Hospital and was an associate clinical professor of emergency surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
