UPDATE: Police now say the injured man is refusing to cooperate with investigators, and that they have reason to suspect he is not being honest about the shooting.


 

Killeen police are investigating a drive-by shooting that sent a man to the hospital Friday morning.

KWTX reports that a 22-year-old man was jogging at Long Branch Park around 6:30 AM when he was confronted by two people in a light-colored SUV. Details about the confrontation have not yet been released, but it resulted in the runner being shot. Despite his injury, he was able to walk home.

According to KWTX, the victim was alert while undergoing treatment at Temple's Baylor Scott & White Hospital.

KXXV reports that the victim may be a Fort Hood soldier.
