A Killeen police officer responding to a domestic disturbance reportedly shot an armed suspect Monday morning.

At 9:24 AM, the officer was responded to a domestic disturbance call at 1805 Cedar Hill Drive. As the officer was speaking with a woman involved in the disturbance, a 34-year-old man arrived with a gun.

The armed man confronted the officer and was shot. He was transported to Temple's Baylor Scott & White Hospital in stable condition.

No other injuries were reported.

Killeen PD Spokeswoman Carroll Smith said the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave while detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division's Violent Crimes Unit investigate the incident.

Smith said the department will release more information as it becomes available.
