Central Texas College's PBS station KNCT-TV will be going off the air after the college's board of trustees voted to end funding for the station.

According to The Killeen Daily Herald, the board of trustees rescinded a previous vote from April of last year which approved a "repack" of the station. A "repack", an FCC mandate, required that KNCT-TV move its broadcast channel from 46 to 17 which would have cost the school over $4 million dollars.

The April 2017 vote was approved because the FCC promised that it would reimburse any cost the station incurred, but government funding uncertainty and low donations caused the board to rescind the vote.

Central Texas College plans to continue its radio and academics department and plans to continue streaming programming online are in the works.
