The identity of a man who led officers on a high-speed chase before attempting to steal a woman's car has been released.

Joshua James Adams has been charged with fleeing a police officer, eminent danger of serious bodily injury, and driving while intoxicated. Three other charges have not yet been formalized.

The car Adams was driving when apprehended was reported stolen in San Antonio.

Adams was arrested after a chase which began around 1:30 Saturday afternoon in Temple after an officer spotted a wanted car on I-35.

The driver refused to pull over and exited at Midway Drive before losing control rolling the vehicle. He fled on foot and attempted to steal a car containing a mother and two children.

A state trooper took Adams into custody, who refused treatment at the scene. He is being held at Bell County Jail on $7,004 bond.
