Man Found Dead In Temple

Temple police are investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered in an alleyway Thursday morning.

According to Kathleen Serie and our news partner KWTX, the man was found dead early Thursday morning between 1st and 3rd street in the vicinity of Temple's Feed My Sheep homeless ministry.

Authorities responded to the scene around 7:20 AM. The man was pronounced dead at the scene around 7:55 AM.

The man's name has not been released to the public yet, though people claiming to know the man referred to him as "Schmitty" when speaking to KWTX. He was reportedly a regular at Feed My Sheep and made camp in the alley.

An autopsy had been ordered. No arrests have been made at this time.
