A man was shot in the back Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of an apartment complex where another man was fatally shot last month.

The 31-year-old victim was shot in the back shortly before 5 p.m. outside of Killeen's Hillcrest Apartments on Jennifer Drive. The victim was taken to Darnall Army Medical Center. Police have not released the victim's name or commented on his condition.

Investigators say the two suspects were responding to a Craigslist ad concerning a dog for sale. No description of the suspects has been released and it is unclear if they fled the scene on foot or in a car.

22-year-old Jonathon Tyrone Bridges was shot in the same parking lot on Wednesday, March 11. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found Bridges still conscious. He told police that a man exited a car being driven by a woman and demanded money before shooting him and getting back into the car. The car then fled the scene. Bridges later died at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Police have not said if the two shootings are related. They're asking anyone with information about either crime to contact Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477.
