Man Struck By Vehicle in Waco Dies

KWTX reported that a man that was walking along the shoulder of a busy road in Central Texas, and was fatally struck by a vehicle.

The man was struck in the Central Texas city of Waco,  and was identified by the authorities as Benjamin Arning, 26.

Authorities responded to the scene of the accident, which was in the 1100 block of East Lake Shore Drive which is near Parkview Christian Academy in Waco.

Waco police officer, Garen Bynum, said, “A witness to the crash said that Arning was walking on or around the white line on the shoulder when he was struck.”

Bynum also said, "The driver of the eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Cruz that struck Arning stopped and tried to protect the victim in the roadway with his vehicle when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle.”

Arning was rushed to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The accident that took place is still currently under investigation.
