March For Our Lives Rallies Saturday in Central Texas

KWTX's Rhyan Henson reported that March For Our Lives rallies will be taking place here in our Central Texas communities on Saturday.

These rallies will be coinciding with other March For Our Life rallies taking place across the country, after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. that left 17 dead.

The rallies are taking place to make lives of students and teachers a priority, and to bring gun violence to an end in schools and communities.

The rallies will take place in Killeen and Waco at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. respectively. The Waco rally will begin at Heritage Square, and the Killeen rally will start at the Killeen ISD Administration building at 200 North WS Young Dr.

Casie Pollard, 16, a sophomore at Hewitt Midway High School is one of the organizers for the rally in Waco. Pollard said,

Pollard said, “We are the future and it’s our responsibility to take action.” Open Carry Texas members plan counter protests during these rallies, but the organzation said, "These counter-protests will be peaceful, professional and cordial."
