It was such a big success last year that McDonald's is doing it again: free breakfast on Tuesday morning when students in Texas will take the STAAR test.  Now that's what I call brain food!

Tuesday, March 28th from 6:00 until 9:00 a.m., McDonald’s owners in the Waco/Temple area are offering free meals. All participating local McDonald’s locations will be serving a wholesome, health-centric breakfast to students in 3rd through 8th grades, and also teachers with a valid school ID who will be administering in the standardized test.  (When did the use of the word 'proctor' fall out of fashion?)

The free McDonald's test-morning breakfast will include:

  • Choice of Egg White Delight McMuffin Sandwich or Fruit and Maple Oatmeal
  • 1% percent low fat milk jug or small Minute Maid® Apple Juice
  • A pouch of Apple Slices

If it were me, I take the McMuffin. That's because I have oatmeal every day of the week already.  But if you want oatmeal, get the oatmeal. No reason to fight on a test-taking morning.

Make sure you hightail it to McDonald's Tuesday morning if you're eligible to receive the free breakfast. Just not the one under construction on West Adams Avenue. They're not quite ready yet.
