3:47 PM: TxDOT's Jodi Wheatley has issued an update on traffic conditions at the crash site:

Crash site appears to be clear and traffic is flowing again through Bruceville-Eddy and down to Big Elm Rd. Traffic from that point is still slowed by the need to detour all traffic onto N. Loop 363 at exit 304. - JWheatley

Central Texas traffic woes continued Tuesday afternoon as a mini van hit the rear of a cargo truck at the Bell County line just south of Eddy on I35.

In a news release, Jodi Wheatley with TxDOT wrote: A minivan at the end of the stackup on I-35 has hit the back of an 18-wheeler. Emergency responders are on the scene, no information on severity of crash or estimated clearing time. Traffic is backing up quickly behind the crash - alternate routes advised.

Meanwhile, traffic along I35 between Temple and Troy continued to move at a snail's pace, even as flood waters began to diminish.

Traffic was also slow along Loop 363, particularly in areas with I35 exits.

If you have to be on the road, take it slow, find ways around trouble areas, and absolutely DO NOT attempt to cross any roadways that appear to be even a little flooded. It doesn't take much to cause a vehicle to hydroplane, be swept away, or stall. It's just not worth the risk!
