One of the NBA's greatest dunkers and personalities Darryl "Chocolate Thunder" Dawkins passed away at the age of 58.

According to WFMZ, Dawkins passed away today (Aug. 27th) in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. The cause of death is unknown at this time. Darryl Dawkins was one of the NBA's most flamboyant players in the late 70's and the first player to be drafted into the league from high school. He broke backboards and made many a highlight reel throughout his career and was given the nickname "Chocolate Thunder" by Stevie Wonder. After his retirement, he went on to be a coach for several teams and occasional broadcast commentator.
