On Monday, Nolanville City Council members unanimously voted to approve the rezoning of 11 acres along 10th Street to make room for the potential development of apartment buildings, retail space, and a city park.

The apartments, if built, would be the first in Nolanville to include a community center and swimming pool.

Before the vote, some citizens expressed concerns about drainage issues, but City Manager Stephen Pearl says the issues will be addressed with building engineers.

The project, which is tentatively scheduled to begin in January, will provide government housing for median income families.

The project will be discussed again at the next council meeting on September 5.
