North America’s First Surf Park To Open In Austin

North America's first Surf Park is set to open this Friday in Austin, Texas!

NLand Surf Park is a high tech WaveGarden facility that will offer waves for surfers of all skill levels. From head-high open face waves, two-footers,  and gentle waves for beginners.

Doug Coors is the Nlands founder and told surfermag.com, "As a surfer and enginner, NLand has been a dream of mine for the past 20 years. We have had our share of challenges, but they are behind us and I look forward to sharing our waves with the world."

Those challenges included a lawsuit filed by Travis County which said the park did not meet health and safety requirements that apply to public pools. This delayed the opening of the surf park until this week.

Since then, county and state officials have come to terms with NLand on how to regulate the park. Time to wax up the sticks and hang ten!
