Old Farmer’s Almanac Predicts Warmer Texas Winter

Winter in Central Texas this year will be warmer than usual according to the 2017 Farmers Almanac. 

According to the 225-year-old publication, Texas should expect below-normal precipitation this winter, but normal snowfall for areas in the northern part of the state.

The coldest stretches will occur in late December, January, and early February. April and May look to be warmer than usual but with average spring time precipitation.

Summer of 2017 is predicted to be a few degrees cooler that this summer. Above average rainfall is expected for central and south Texas next summer. The hottest periods next summer will happen between late-June and mid-to late July.

Overall, 2017 looks to be a warmer year with average precipitation. The pacific-northwest, Illinois, and the Atlantic corridor are expected to take the brunt of the snowfall during the winter of 2016-17.
