Our news partner, KWTX, reports that one is dead after a wreck occurred in McLennan County early Tuesday morning.

Authorities at the scene said the driver was on McLaughlin Rd near Hwy 6 and Speegleville when they lost control of the car and hit a bridge.

Once the car made contact with the bridge, the car burst into flames. The driver was fatally injured.

The accident occurred shortly after 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, and the highway was shut down for two hours as crews worked the wreckage.

The name of the driver is being withheld from the public until the next of kin is notified. Authorities are unaware at this point if anyone else was in the vehicle.
