One man was killed and another was injured in a single car crash Tuesday night. Our news partner, KWTX, reported that the crash occurred around 9 PM on U.S. Highway 190/Interstate 14 west of the FM 2410 overpass in Harker Heights.
The victim of the crash was Arturo A. Oniel II, a native of Killeen. Oniel was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene. The passenger in the crash, whose name wasn’t revealed to the public, was 25 years old. He was transported to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
Oniel and the passenger were driving westbound on U.S. Highway 190/Interstate 14 in a 2004 GMC Yukon. Harker Heights police said the vehicle exited the road up a sloping median where the vehicle overturned and came to a rest on its wheels in a driveway of a business. The vehicle caught fire, but the flames were quickly put out by a Harker Heights fire crew.
