US Evacuates Embassy in Libya Amid Clashes

WASHINGTON (AP) — The State Department has shuttered the U.S. embassy in Libya and evacuated American staffers there as the security situation in the capital Tripoli deteriorates amid worsening clashes between rival militias.

UN Security Council Calls for Gaza Cease-fire

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is demanding an end to the violence in Gaza "in the name of humanity" and is accusing the leaders of Israel and Hamas of being irresponsible and "morally wrong" for letting their people get killed.

Judy Morales Sworn Into Temple District 2 Office

Former Temple mayor pro tem Judy Morales officially resumed her seat on the city council Thursday, approximately five months after resigning. Morales was reelected as the representative of District 2 with 63% of the vote during a special election on Saturday, July 19.
