Police have named two mean sought for questioning in connection to the theft of 24 state championship rings belonging to the Academy High School Lady Bees softball team late last week.

As reported by our news partner KWTX, investigators would like to speak with 28-year-old Brendon Bolsins of Belton and Marcus Knotts. Police say Knotts is believed to be homeless and may spend time on Avenue G in Temple.

The Lady Bees earned the rings in June when they secured Academy High’s first 3A State Softball Championship with a 5-3 win over Santa Gertrudis Academy. They were stolen from coach Gus Beuershausen’s truck on Thursday, September 7.

Beuershausen’s vehicle was parked outside the Villas on the Hill apartment complex at 2510 S. 31st St. at the time of the theft.

The rings, valued around $75,000, were paid for with private donations, and were to be presented to the team Friday night.

Anyone who can lead detectives to Bolsins or Knotts or who has any information about the crime is asked to contact the Temple Police Department at (254) 298-5500 or Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477. Information may also be submitted at bellcountycrimestoppers.com or via the P3Tips app.
