The Salado Eagles are enjoying 2014 successful spring days between their baseball and softball teams.

The Eagles, currently one of the hottest teams in Texas Class 2A, will take to the field in Franklin this weekend against Nacogdoches Central Heights in a series that will be broadcast on KTEM-AM 1400.

The game one broadcast will start on Friday at 7 p.m. locally on KTEM-AM 1400 and on the internet at ktemnews.com. You can also tune in via your mobile device by downloading the RadioPup app. Game two will be on Saturday at Noon. Should the need arise for a game three in the series, it will be 20 minutes after the conclusion of game two.

Salado has been on a roll in its first three series, going a total of 6-1 so far in the playoffs. In their last four games, they have outscored their opposition 30-1, with three shutouts and averaging seven and a half runs per contest.

Central Heights fought through a tough series with Kirbyville, winning two out of three games to get to the Regional Semi-final round.

The winner of this round will play the winner of the Troy-Garrison series, being played at College Station A&M Consolidated’s Tiger Stadium starting Friday night.

Our focus also during the broadcast will also be on the Salado Lady Eagles, as they play in the Regional Finals in softball against the Crawford Lady Pirates in their series to decide a trip to the state tournament in Class 2A. Their series will be played at Hewitt Midway, with game one at 7 p.m. tonight, game two at 7 p.m. tomorrow and game three, if needed, will be at Noon Saturday.
