Police are investigating after a woman stabbed another woman several times on a bus simply due to a language barrier.

Paul J. Gately with our news partner, KWTX, reports that two women got into a disturbance on a Greyhound bus a little after midnight Monday on Interstate 35 in Bruceville Eddy.

Reshunda Denise Pickens, 32, a native of San Antonio, reportedly changed seats during the bus ride and tried to strike up a conversation with a woman next to her. When the woman refused to speak with her, Pickens reportedly drew a knife and stabbed the woman four times.

Investigators determined the reason the woman didn't respond to Pickens was simply that she spoke Spanish. The victim was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. The status of the victim is unknown at this point, and Pickens is being held in McLennan County Jail with a $10,000 bond on an aggravated assault charge.
