Pluckers Wing Bar supported the efforts of Santa's Workshop, a Fort Hood nonprofit which provides Christmas gifts for children in military families.

On Wednesday, twenty percent of food and nonalcoholic beverage purchases was donated to the organization when the fundraiser was mentioned by the customer.

Local store marketing manager Sarah Roulston said many customers on Wednesday were there for the first time, and came because of the Santa's Workshop fundraiser.

Lisa West, the nonprofit's president, said the fundraiser had "terrific" turnout, and that she was surprised by how many people were there for lunch. The event reportedly gained attention for the organization.

In September, the nonprofit will host a "Silent Night" fundraiser at the Vineyard in Florence.

Last year, Santa's Workshop provided gifts for 3,860 children in approximately 1,820 families.
