Just in case you're wondering, it is against the law to take a selfie while in a voting booth in the state of Texas.

It's covered under the state-wide photography ban within 100 feet of a polling place. No photos of any kind are allowed. However, if you're voting from home, as with an absentee ballot, you can take all the selfies you like.

Texas isn't alone in not allowing selfies while voting - most states across the south have similar bans saying voters have a right to "cast a ballot in secrecy and privacy". Those opposed to such bans say the voter selfie promotes voter enthusiasm across social media.

ABC has posted a list of the rules in all 50 states here. Social media company Snapchat is trying to fight the ban in several states.
