UPDATE: Killeen police announced late Thursday afternoon that they have located Shamar Lamar Lewis, and he is currently in the Killeen City Jail awaiting arraignment.

Killeen police are searching for a 17-year-old they consider armed and dangerous, and who may have been at the scene of a violent robbery that resulted in the death of the victim.

KPD Public Affairs Officer Ofelia Miramontez wrote in a news release that Shamar Lamar Lewis, who goes by the nickname "Savage", is also wanted on another felony warrant. He's described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5'7", and weighing approximately 120 pounds.

Lewis is considered very dangerous, and Miramontez warned that no one should attempt to confront or apprehend him.

According to Miramontez, investigators believe Lewis was in the parking lot of the Morgan Manor Apartments, 1506 Bundrant Drive, on Tuesday, March 7, when three our four people robbed a man, then brutally attacked him before fleeing shortly after 8 PM.

When police responded to the scene at 8:08 PM, they found the unconscious victim lying on the ground. The victim was not breathing, and was transported to Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at 10:07 PM.

If you spot Shamar Lamar Lewis, know where he may be, or know anything about the robbery, detectives ask that you please contact Crime Stoppers at 526-TIPS (8477) or online at bellcountycrimestoppers.com. Information may also be submitted via the P3Tips mobile app.
