On Tuesday Night, the hashtag #KilleenFinances was trending on Twitter after Killeen City officials announced that they were considering closing down the city jail as the council continues to find ways to cut down the city's budget problems according to KWTX.

The city says that closing the jail will force officers who make arrests to transport prisoners directly to the Bell County Jail in Belton. Citizens are concerned that this measure could lead to more crime problems down the line. According to the Killeen Police Employee Association's Facebook page, the move would also force detectives to drive to Belton to conduct interviews which will be time consuming and lead to cases not being solved in a timely manner.

What are your thoughts? Do you think the city should close the jail in order to save money or should they find other alternatives?
