Skull Found in Travis County Belonged to Former Fort Hood Soldier

Police say a skull found near a Travis County halfway house belonged to a former Fort Hood soldier convicted of sexual assault.

According to a report from the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, DNA testing linked the skull to 41-year-old Kevin Patrick Soeser. Soeser has been on Texas’ most wanted fugitives list since he snuck away from the Leander halfway house in July of 2013.

In 2003, Soeser was convicted of four counts of child sexual assault and one count of possession of child pornography after a trail at Fort Still, Oklahoma. He was held at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas before being moved to the halfway house.

Soeser’s skull was discovered by a dog on September 8 of this year. The dog took the skull home, and the owner turned it over to police.
