Student Who Shot Himself At Temple High School Has Died

The student who shot himself at Temple High School on Tuesday has died.

15-year-old Solomon Harris died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.  Brad Sheffield, spokesperson for Temple Independent School District, confirmed the death to  KTEM on Thursday.

Harris had been listed in critical condition at Scott and White since Tuesday morning.

Sheffield said he was pronounced dead at 1:20 a.m.Thursday morning.

Sheffield said the family had chosen to “give the gift of life” and donate Harris’ organs.

Temple High School was placed on lockdown earlier this week following reports of a shooting on campus. According to police, Harris shot himself in the head at the school’s tennis courts. A gun was recovered on the scene.
