A suspect identified as Yassine Salhi is in custody. French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve told reporters the suspect, originally from Saint-Priest, Lyon in eastern France, had no criminal record but was suspected of having contact with radical Islamic organizations in the past.
The condition of the second suspect was unknown Friday morning.
The incident came on the same day that sites in Tunisia and Kuwait were attacked. At least 27 people were killed in an attack on a hotel in Sousse, Tunisia, and a suicide bomber detonated a device inside the Al-Sadiq mosque in Kuwait City. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the latter incident.
