Take the Drive to Athens for Eggfest 2016

It's a couple of hours away in Athens, TX but the sixth annual Athens Eggfest scheduled for Saturday, April 9, at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center is one of those must-attend Texas festivals. Especially if you're looking for a deal on a high-end smoker.

By the way, the eggs in the festival are not the kind you crack, they're the kind with which one smokes meat: the Big Green Egg of backyard renown.

The fest runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cooking ends at 3 p.m. Tasting will continue until all the food is gone.

Cooks should preregister at http://athenseggfest.wordpress.com/. There is no fee to cook.
