Temple Fire Department to Host Family Fire Safety Day

Temple Fire & Rescue is inviting Central Texas families to attend Fire Safety Day on Saturday, October 4. There will be free hotdogs and fun activities for the whole family.

The event will take place at the Central Fire Station, 210 North 3rd St. from 10am to 1pm. Kids can participate in the Fire Safety Challenge, which consists of five activities meant to educate families about fire preparedness. As part of the challenge, kids will get the opportunity to slide down the department’s Quint-6, 22-foot tall inflatable slide.

Families will be able to tour the Fire Safety House, where they’ll learn common causes of fires and how to prevent them. Firefighters will also provide information and tips on family fire prevention and emergency escape plans.

The event is free and open to the public.
