Temple police are on the hunt for a man who robbed a convenience store early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery at the 7-11 at 2701 North 3rd Street around 2:25 A.M. According to witnesses, a man entered the store and acted like he was going to buy some items. While the clerk was scanning items, the suspect raised his shirt to reveal a handgun in his waistband. He demanded money, then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. It was not clear which direction the suspect fled.

The robber was last seen wearing a black beanie hat, sunglasses, a heavy black coat, and tan pants. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-TIPS (Local (254) 526-TIPS).
