Charges against a 19-year-old Temple man were approved by the Bell County District Attorney's Office Tuesday, two days after he allegedly gunned down an 18-year-old on East Calhoun.

Elijah Williams has been charged with third degree felony manslaughter in connection to the shooting death of Mikhail Jawan Ellis. Williams remained in the Bell County Jail Tuesday afternoon. No bond information was available as of press time.

Police responding to reports of a shooting on East Calhoun found Ellis suffering from a gunshot wound shortly after 1:30 PM Sunday. Ellis was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hospital, where he passed away as a result of his injuries.

Williams was detained a short time after police found Ellis. He was booked into the Bell County jail at 5:22 PM Sunday.
