Temple, Texas is just days away from taking part in the World's Largest Swim Lesson!

The largest swim lesson of the summer happens this Friday, June 24th and will be hosted by Lions Junction Family Water Park. It's a free swim lesson for parents and kids alike.

Guests just need to sign in at Lions Junction 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson. The class is free and open to the public before the park opens on Friday.

There are some 700 water parks and community pools world wide taking part in the free swim lesson this Friday, and Lions Junction is hoping for a big class. Parents and Kids alike can't be too safe when it comes to preventing a drowning event.

Tell your friends to sign up! The leading cause of injury-related deaths in U.S. children is still drowning. It's the second leading cause of death for kids under 14 years of age.

Keith Dawson, Aquatics Coordinator for the City of Temple Parks & Recreation Department said in a press release:

We want to make sure everybody stays safe around the water all year long, not just during the summer months. If we can raise awareness about the importance of learning to swim early, it could potentially save a life later.
