Are you ready for some Central Texas high school baseball?

1400 KTEM will air a huge Central Texas rivalry game tonight as the Temple Wildcats travel to Belton to take on the District 8-5A leading Belton Tigers at Tiger Field at 7:00 p.m.

The Tigers (13-10-1, 8-1 8-5A) are coming off a 4-0 shutout win over Ellison on Friday night as senior pitcher Justin Golden held the Eagles offense to just 4 hits.  The win kept Belton in first place by half a game over Waco Midway, which rallied to defeat Temple 7-6 on Friday night.

“Every win is important and you can’t look past anyone,” Belton coach Eddie Cornblum told KDHPressbox.com. “Our next big game is Tuesday (against Temple) for a lot of reason. That is our big rival game and it means a lot to our kids."

KTEM kicks off the broadcast at 6:45 p.m. with Keith Andel handling the play-by-play of the game and first pitch is set for 7:00 p.m., weather permitting.
