SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A lawyer already facing trial in San Antonio on charges he illegally solicited personal injury cases has been arrested for what prosecutors say was an attempt to arrange the killing of a witness against him.

Paul Andrews was arrested Wednesday in Corpus Christi.

Bexar County prosecutors tell the San Antonio Express-News (http://bit.ly/1lj53K3) an arrest warrant was obtained after an informant tipped authorities that Andrews wanted a witness in the solicitation case eliminated.

The 52-year-old lawyer and his partner earlier were charged with three counts of felony barratry for allegedly pressuring their San Antonio office manager to illegal solicit personal injury cases. The office manager has a civil suit against them in Nueces County and her attorney says she was the target of the slaying plan.
