Here is a chance to bring Texas Monthly back to Texas.

A Texas standard since 1973 is up for sale. Texas Monthly was put on the selling block because no one wants to be a part of national media anymore.

According to the Houston Chronicle, for the past 17 years Texas Monthly has been owned by Emmis Communications Corp. This past Thursday it was announced that Emmis was planning on buying back the company in order to make it private. To pay down the $256.4 million dollar debt, Emmis will jettison most of it's publication division, including Texas Monthly.

The magazine has a paid circulation of 300,000, and, according to the magazine's website, is read by one of seven Texas adults. And that's with it being owned by non-Texans. Think how great it could be if it was actually Texan again.
