Yet another Texas teacher is accused of having an improper relationship with a student, and this time there may be an unborn child involved.

KRIV reports that 27-year-old Katherine Ruth Harper was arrested last week after an anonymous tip indicated that she'd had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old former student. The student told police the affair took place in June and July of last year, and provided proof of explicit communications and photos exchanged via phone.

Authorities say Harper is 8 months pregnant. They have not said if the student is the father.

Earlier this month, 27-year-old Sarah Fowlkes, a science teacher from Lockhart, was arrested after allegedly having an affair with a 17-year-old student. A mugshot of her smiling became joke fodder, but points to a serious issue.

In February, we learned of the case of 28-year-old Haeili Wey of Austin Westlake High School, who had sexual encounters with two students and allegedly asked them to help destroy evidence of the impropriety.

In that story, we cited the Austin American-Statesman, which found that 686 teachers had lost their licenses due to improper relationships with students between January 2010 and December 2016.
