Weddings are supposed to be all about the bride (you know it's true, fellas), but one Texas couple's nuptial ceremony is making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The Ft. Worth Star-Telegram reports that 26-year-old Katherine Leigh Mehta of Arlington was hired to photograph a wedding in Weatherford over the weekend. At some point during the celebration, guests told an off-duty deputy working security at the venue that they'd seen Mehta having sex with one of the guests in a room. When confronted, Mehta reportedly left the room and began yelling at people, after which witnesses said she went to a nearby tree to urinate.

Police arrived to arrest Mehta, who reportedly smelled strongly of alcohol. To make matters worse, police say she made threats to the arresting officers while en route to booking, yelling that their families would be dead by Christmas.

During a search in jail, officers say they found a bottle of Alprazolam (aka Xanax) in her jacket pocket. A prescription label indicated it was hers, and police believe she consumed alcohol with the drug mixed in.

She was charged with public intoxication and obstruction/retaliation. The Star-Telegram reports that she bonded out of jail over the weekend.

WFAA-TV attempted to interview Mehta at her home. She did not respond, but a family member spoke to reporters and painted a darker picture of what happened.

A woman who identified herself as Mehta's sister told WFAA that Mehta was served spiked drinks without her knowledge.

"She said she went outside, and she said these two men tried to approach her and do inappropriate things," the woman told WFAA. "And she said she was yelling and trying to get help, and things got turned around in a negative way."
