The 5 Most Traveled Structurally Deficient Bridges in Bell County

Here is a look at the 5 most frequently traveled bridges in Bell County that are categorized as “structurally deficient”.

To earn such a score, one or more key elements of each bridge has to be found to be in “poor” or “worse” condition. The Killeen Daily Herald reports that these classifications have been handed out by the Road and Transportation Builders Association.

The U.S. Department of Transportation puts out an annual report on the status of bridges nationwide. This report includes some 596 bridges in Bell and Williamson Counties in Texas that are in need of repairs right now. Many have been listed as needing repairs for a decade.

KDH reports the estimated cost to repair all 596 bridges will run somewhere close to $370 million. TxDot would like to remind everyone that the term “Structurally Deficient” does not necessarily translate to “unsafe”. They explain it’s a term used for funding classification. Lets take a look for ourselves shall we?

Let’s check out the 5 Most Traveled Structurally Deficient Bridges in Bell County…
