Earlier this week we told you about Dallas based retailer Neiman Marcus and its now SOLD OUT $66 Collared Greens and the internet went completely crazy talking about it. Well, that isn't the only thing menu item Neiman Marcus is pushing this holiday season that has us scratching our heads.

After a few minutes of checking out the site, I came across the spread you see above. Its their "Holiday Turkey Dinner" which includes the following:

  • 64 oz. Butternut Squash Soup
  • 12-lb. Roast Turkey (chef prepared and fully cooked)
  • 32 oz. Gravy
  • 48 oz. Sausage Stuffing
  • 48 oz. Wild Rice Salad
  • 48 oz. Farro Pilaf
  • 12 pieces Monkey Bread with 8 oz. Strawberry Butter
  • 8 oz. Pecan Bread Pudding with 8 oz. Whiskey Sauce

Now how much do you think a pretty substantial meal like this would cost? $100? NOPE. $200? Not even close. The list price for this chef prepared meal is $495 plus $32 shipping and handling bringing your grand total to $527.00! FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a Thanksgiving dinner! Consider for a moment that the American Farm Bureau Federation, according to Newsweek, says the average cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people is actually $49.61. When you consider this, I can only guess that Neiman Marcus' holiday turkey dinner is by far and away the most expensive Thanksgiving dinner in Texas.
