Thief of Ambulance is Now Behind Bars

KWTX's Alex Cano reported that a man was shot by a Killeen police officer, after stealing an ambulance and crashing it.

The man who stole the ambulance, was shot by the officer for attempting to charge the officer with the vehicle. The shooting occurred last Friday, and the man was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple for his injuries.

After being released from the hospital on Wednesday, the man was taken to Bell County Jail for charges of stealing the ambulance. The officer who shot the man was placed shortly on administrative leave, but was reinstated on Tuesday according to reports by Killeen Police Department.
