Police are investigating after a burglar broke a window at a Temple motorcycle shop and stole a leather jacket.

Security footage shows the man using a rock to break through a lower window on the north side of Horny Toad Harley-Davidson at 7454 South General Bruce Drive around 1:45 AM Tuesday.

The footage shows the man placing the rock on a stack of papers, then going to a specific display to steal a $550 leather jacket. He then crawls back out through the broken window.

KWTX-TV reports that the burglar set off an alarm, prompting the shop's security company to call Horny Toad's manager, Drew Bierds. Bierds reportedly believed it was a false alarm and told police they didn't need to investigate.

Bierds told KWTX he realized his mistake when he arrived for work later that morning, and he plans to install window alarms and plans to respond to all alarms in the future.

The suspect appears to be a white male standing around 5'6" and weighing around 150 lbs with medium-lenght hair. Police believe he's in his mid-20s or early-30s.

Anyone with information about the break-in or the suspect is asked to call the Temple Police Department at (254) 298-5500.
