Two Boys Struck, Killed While Pushing Dad’s Disabled Track
ALVIN — Authorities in Brazoria County were trying to figure out Sunday how two young brothers who were pushing their father's disabled truck were struck and killed by a car in which a passenger was suffering from a lethal gunshot wound.
Sheriff's investigator Dominick Sanders says David Barajas II, 12, and his brother Caleb, 11, were pushing the pickup with their father Friday night about a quarter-mile from their home in Alvin when the car slammed into them.
A man riding in the car’s passenger seat had been shot in the head.
David Barajas died at the scene and his brother died later at a hospital.
The shooting victim in the car, Jose Banda, 20, also died in a hospital.
It’s not clear whether Banda was driving or whether someone else was behind the wheel and fled after the accident.
