UPDATE: The shooter has been identified as Kristen Peralez, who KHOU-TV reports was wounded during a confrontation with an officer after she exited the building following the shooting. She later passed away at a hospital. It was unclear if the officer fatally wounded Peralez or if she shot herself.

The fatally wounded victim was identified as night manager Francisco Reyes.

A man shot in the leg and hospitalized was identified as Fredencio Janas.


 

Police say a woman who opened fire at a warehouse in Missouri City, Texas early Monday morning is dead.

KTRK-TV's Courtney Fischer and Jeff Ehling report that the woman fatally shot a manager and wounded another employee at the Ben E. Keith Foods building in Missouri City before her life was lost in a shootout with police. It was not immediately clear if the woman was shot by police or took her own life.

Police say the woman was an employee of the warehouse, and that she entered the building and began firing shortly before 2:30 AM. The manager on duty was fatally wounded. Another employee was shot in the leg and transported to a nearby hospital.

Investigators are still working to determine a motive.

KHOU-TV reports that the shooter's husband was also an employee at the warehouse, and that he assisted the man who was shot in the leg.

The woman reportedly posted to social media shortly before carrying out the attack. Investigators were combing through her social media accounts late Monday morning.
