KWTX's Matthew Ablon reports that two people in Temple were sent to a local hospital after a collision with an 18 wheeler on Interstate 35 Sunday afternoon.

Temple Fire & Rescue said, "The accident involving a sedan and an 18-wheeler happened just before 3 p.m. Sunday, trapping the occupants in the sedan between a concrete wall and the semi on the inside southbound lane of the interstate, near mile marker 304."

Temple fire crews had to use heavy duty extraction equipment to get the two people out of the sedan. The crews literally had to remove the roof of the car in order to get them out of the vehicle. The two were taken to Scott & White Medical Center to be evaluated.
